First experiments

The images here are from my experimental first shoot, where I simply wanted to play around and get a feel for my idea.  They are only preliminary shots, and the models I have used are not going to be used for any final images.

For the shoot I wanted to see what reactions I could get out of my subjects, and so I chose to project a slideshow of images in front of them.  The slideshows each contained 4 images that changed every 45 seconds, and lasted for a total of 3 minutes.  Of the 4 images shown, the first 3 were of the subject that was viewing them, and the final one was a shocking image of pornography.  I wanted to show them these images to see if they would become uncomfortable at what they were seeing.
The models were unaware of what was going to happen, told only to stand in front of the projection screen for the 3 minute duration.  I thought that this would keep them unprepared, helping to achieve a more honest reaction.

As you can see from the images above, and the contact sheet below, I did not achieve the results that I wanted.  There is too much humor in the face of my subject and he is too relaxed, which is most likely because we know each other.  I feel also that the images I projected in front of him were not at all effective, and to be more successful in the future I will need to re-think what I am going to show people.

Again with my second model, I didn't seem to achieve the results or reactions that I wanted.  For the same reasons it didn't work, and I really need to re-think what I am going to show people, and re-define what it is that I want to get out of my subjects.

There are some interesting results where she appears to be more shocked with a blank expression over her face, however I feel that these only came about through chance.

Another thing I need to address is how I am going to technically construct my images in the future.  These are only tests, and it is clear that I need to become more competent in the studio.  I need to find a way to make the images more exciting, and really find the best way to show how my subjects are reacting.
